Raúl Ramírez
Upon completion of his degree programme in Agronomic Engineering at the Universidad Central de Venezuela, Raul started a MSc in “Development and Environment” at the Simon Bolivar University in Caracas. He also teaches "surveying and mapping" at the Central University of Venezuela.
Raul works on several projects as a GIS programmer, all related to statistics of rainfall and climate change in Venezuela :
As an "advisor to the environment" of the Venezuelan Institute for Cultural Heritage, Raul studies environmental impact studies and risk factor for structures of cultural heritage interest.
At the Simon Bolivar University, he is working on projects related to fire risk in the forests and Savannah of southern Venezuela. He also works on a project data repository for hydroclimate in Venezuela.
In the past, he done work on planning and programming in mechanized agricultural farms using GIS methodologies.
Raul has a grant of the National Agricultural Research Institute of Venezuela to study precision agriculture in semi-arid zones.
Raul expect from this training and this congress to exchange information and experience on management of satellite images, as well as methodologies for new interpretations surface using GIS methodologies.
