Claudia Linhares
Claudia Linhares is a biologist having completed her PhD in Remote Sensing in 2005 at the National Institute for Space Research (INPE), Brazil. Since 1997, she has focused her research on land use and land cover change in the Brazilian Amazon. During her PhD she broadened her research interests to hydrological dynamics of different landscapes in Amazonian mesoscale basins. Since 2008, she has a post-doctoral position at INPE aimed to understand the driving factors of land use / cover change related to hydrological dynamic at large temporal scale. Claudia is also working on DETER project, an institutional program at INPE, whose main objectives are mapping deforestation and forest degradation in the Brazilian Amazon.
