Humberto Alves Barbosa received his bachelor's degree in Atmospheric Science from the University Federal of Campina Grande – UFCG (1996), his masters in Remote Sensing from Brazilian Institute for Spatial Research – INPE (1998) and his doctorate in Soil, Water and Environmental Science from University of Arizona – SWES (2004). Currently, he is an adjunct professor of the Federal University of Alagoas - UFAL. He has experience in the area of Meteorology, with emphasis in Satellite-based Remote Sensing, concentrating mainly on the following subjects: vegetation-climate interactions and drought monitoring.
